The new Bavaria Cruiser 32 will be launched in Australia on 20 February 2010 at The Quays Marina, Pittwater, NSW. The first model arrived on January 18 and will soon be commissioned ahead of sea-trials and handover to her new owners.

North South Yachting, Australian importer of Bavaria Yachts, has today sold their 400^th new yacht. The new order, a Bavaria CRUISER 32, will be delivered to new owners in Adelaide.

The new Bavaria CRUISER 45 is set for its world debut at the forthcoming Dusseldorf Boat Show on January 23. Designed by Farr Yacht Design and BMW Designworks USA (a subsidiary of the BMW Group), the new CRUISER 45 will set a new benchmark in mid-size production cruisers.

Bavaria Yachts has officially launched a new corporate design this week at the Interboot boat show in Friedrichshafen.

On a recent trip to Europe, Bob Mulkearns, MD of North South Yachting, spent time at the Bavaria Yachts factory to see firsthand how they have adapted to the current economic cycle and find out what their strategies were for the forthcoming upturn.

North South Yachting, national importer of Bavaria Yachts and X-Yachts will be at Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show, 21-24 May 2009. North South Yachting will have two Bavaria Yachts on display, the Bavaria 34 Cruiser and the new Bavaria 43 Cruiser in her boat show debut.

The first Bavaria Cruiser 55 was launched at the recent Palma International Boat Show. This newest sailing yacht from Bavaria, created in close cooperation with Farr Yacht Design and BMW Group DesignworksUSA, a subsidiary of the BMW Group, has been available for test sailing in Palma de Mallorca this week where dealers and international sailing press have been getting to know Bavaria’s new flagship.

The Federal Government announced recently an increase in the 10% "Temporary Investment Allowance" to 30% as further stimulus to encourage businesses to invest in Capital Equipment and Vehicles. The 30% Investment Allowance applies to Charter business investment. Bavaria Yachts Australia and Finlease have worked together to create working models for new Bavaria Yachts being placed into charter programmes.

Bavaria Yachtbau has recently announced considerable discounts across their range of production yachts with immediate effect and available until 31 May 2009 (excluding Bavaria 55). “Especially in a rather weak marketing environment, we want to offer our customers an extra incentive to decide for a yacht from Giebelstadt“, explains Andres Cardenas, CEO Bavaria Yachtbau.

North South Yachting will be manned with reduced staff and hours during the Christmas and New Year period. Jamie Millar will be in the office Saturday 27, Monday 29 and Tuesday 30 December. Tom Edgington will be in the office Wednesday 31 December, Friday 2 and Saturday 3 January.

This year’s Rolex Sydney to Hobart yacht race will see the Bavaria 50 Cruiser Time Lord flying the flag for Bavaria Yachts. Entered in the PHS division, the crew of Kiwi’s will be aiming to showcase Bavaria’s offshore capabilities.

Time Lord has been set up for short-handed sailing having competed in several two-handed races. Taking second place in the 2006 New Plymouth to Mooloolaba two-handed race she also won her class this year at Airlie Beach Race Week. 

Bavaria Yachts Queensland sponsors a series of ten races through out the year held on Pioneer Bay on Sunday Afternoons.  These feature both offshore and off beach racing yachts and utilise Olympic, windward leeward and combined courses.

2008 was a highly successful Bavaria Whitsunday Rally taking over 14 Bavaria Enthusiasts to secluded bays, beach parties, dining in style and private functions all around the Whitsunday region.

On a fine Friday in Sydney Harbour, 16 Bavaria Yachts jockeyed for position at the start of the annual Bavaria Yachts Sydney Harbour Regatta. The day dawned sunny and with light, cool easterly breezes, a relief following the three preceding days of weather mayhem!

The Rolex Middle Sea Race (RMSR) again contributed to the collection of valuable data on dolphin and whale sightings through its 607 nautical miles' path taken by the 77 sailing boats' crews. Toward promoting the conservation research and awareness of these vulnerable species in the Mediterranean, BICREF has been making available sighting folders and disposable cameras, sponsored by Fotovision Imaging International, to every participating yacht. BICREF has been running this project, with the collaboration of Royal Malta Yacht Club, since 2000 and appreciates the increasing dedication and interest shown by the participating crews, both local and foreign.

New 35 foot yacht joins the Bavaria Cruiser range.

Bavaria Yachts is delighted to announce the latest model to join the Cruiser family: the Bavaria 35 Cruiser. Based on the hull and deck of the current popular Bavaria 34 Cruiser, this new model is a three cabin version. Named to reflect the true size of this yacht, the new 35 Cruiser will have the fresh interior design recently introduced with the stunning Bavaria 43.

The 2008 X-Yachts Australia Cup and Bavaria Yachts Sydney Harbour Regatta is to be sailed on the beautiful waters of Sydney Harbour, organised by the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia and X-Yachts and Bavaria Yachts Australia. 

The 2008 Club Marine Mandurah Boat Show was a roaring success for Bavaria Yachts and Martin Box Marine (WA Agent).  With a Bavaria 40 sold at the show and very strong interest shown throughout, Bavaria capped a fantastic year of boat shows.

Thanks to everyone who came to see the Bavaria Yachts stand at the 20^th Sanctuary Cove Boat Show. The new Bavaria 34, 38 and 40 Cruisers and the Vision 40 wowed all visitors including current and prospective owners and general sailing enthusiasts alike. With an excellent attendance across the show and record sales, everyone agreed it was a great success and are already looking forward to next year.

The 2007 Whitsunday rally was a huge success with over 20 Bavaria enthusiasts enjoying a week in flotilla formation sailing the pristine waters of the Whitsundays with incredible weather and fair winds.  The great news is that the rally is on again in 2008!

Canadian Group Bain Capital announced on June 27th June, that a definitive agreement to acquire Bavaria had been concluded. The London-based Financial Times reported on the 28th that Bain had paid as much as Euro 1.3 billion over A$2 Billion.

Germany’s largest yacht manufacturer, Bavaria Yachtbau announced the release of their new VISION series of Deck Saloon sailing yachts. As world leaders in production yacht construction for many years, Bavaria Yachtbau are now producing Deck Saloon yachts to cater for the growing demand for this type of vessel. The Vision Series comprises of three yachts. The Vision 40 and Vision 44 will be available in July 2006, ex factory with the Vision 50 coming off the production line in the European autumn.

I'd just like to say Thank You!  Having spoken with you and then visiting the other exhibitors at the Melbourne show I could not believe their level of disinterest.  I have to man shows myself so I know what a drag they really are, but you have to keep the future in mind and how many people actually buy from shows vs developing their future plans?

We did see some other pretty nice boats, but when we do take the plunge we will be buying a Bavaria!

I haven't done anything about the training yet, purely because I haven't had time, but I'll keep you posted.  We are planning to visit the Sydney show, so will hopefully see you there.

“We both love the water and have had great fun with a little sailing dinghy. But the idea that we could actually OWN a luxury yacht seemed nothing more than a dream - quitting work and sailing around Australia, dropping in on deserted tropical beaches, sailing inaccessible coastlines and to not be reliant on anything but the weather. Then quite by chance we heard about an information seminar being conducted by Stewart Key on behalf of North South Yachting, covering boat ownership and the Queensland Charter industry. With nothing to lose we decided to attend. What we received was not a sales pitch, but a detailed and comprehensive analysis of the whole ownership process, focusing on legal and regulatory obligations, as well as taxation issues. Armed with all this knowledge we felt able to take the plunge, knowing we really could do it. Before we knew what was happening we were actually test-sailing our Bavaria 33, then delivering her to the magical Whitsundays - sailing Paradise. Sailing off into the sunset is still at the end of a 5-year plan, but we know it will happen because our beautiful yacht is already located in Airlie Beach, in the capable hands of a local chartering firm.  What was the hardest part of the whole process?
